Highly Suspect

Highly Suspect, Massachusetts’ sensational rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Newport Music Hall!

The band was formed in Cape Cod (Massachusetts) in 2009 by twin brothers Rich (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Ryan Meyer (drums and backing vocals) along with their best friend Johnny Stevens (lead vocals, guitar, synthesizer, and piano). They started off as a local cover band (playing songs by Sublime, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd) and released their eponymous debut extended play shortly afterwards. Their musical style can be best described as a blend of hard rock, indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), and blues rock (a fusion genre combining elements of blues and rock, characterized by bluesy improvisation, the twelve bar blues, extended boogie jams typically focused on the electric guitar player, and often a heavier, riff oriented sound). They’ve had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 compilation album, 4 extended plays, 4 singles, and they’ve toured with Deftones, Chevelle, Halestorm, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Scott Weiland (from Stone Temple Pilots). They’ve been nominated for 3 Grammy Awards.

Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to indie rock, blues rock, and hard rock!
